Man Flown to Hospital After Chain Saw Accident
The Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew a man to hospital after he was hit in the face with a chain saw.
The accident happened in Waikanae around 8:30 this
morning.
Apparently the man was cutting firewood and the
chainsaw "kicked back" striking the man in the face.
Wellington Free Ambulance paramedics stabilised the man and then transported him to Waikanae Park to await the helicopter's arrival.
The 35 year old Waikanae man is suffering from severe facial injuries.
He is now in the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department being treated.
