Call for Immediate Reinstatement of Paul Buchanan
Ex-Student calls for immediate reinstatement of Dr Paul
Buchanan
Former Masters student of Dr Paul Buchanan, Scott Mansell, is calling for the immediate reinstatement of Dr Paul Buchanan to his position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland.
An additional email exchange which took place between Dr Buchanan and Miss Asma Al Yammahi has been published by the New Zealand Herald.
“The public revelation of further emails between Dr Buchanan and Miss Yammahi has demonstrated the fairness of Dr Buchanan,” Mr Mansell Said
“The email exchange published this morning has shown that rather than being a racist, as some have labeled him to be, Dr Buchanan is a individual of high integrity who showed concern for his student”
Mr Mansell notes that the comments in much publicized email were inappropriate in tone, but Dr Buchanan withdrew and apologised for those comments the following day.
“Dr Buchanan has suffered enough; the University has overreacted in its dismissal of Dr Buchanan, and I now call on them to immediately reinstate him to his former job”
