Canterbury students eager to be informed and enrolled
Students at Christchurch's largest university are already getting informed with less than 2 months before the next election at the 2008 Political Society (POLSOC) Forum Series.
"Every week, for five weeks, students and all interested locals are getting direct access to MPs and candidates talking on key subjects such as the economy, education and health." says POLSOC President Michael Couch
The November 8 announcement may be during the exam season but students have shown before that many are not stereotypically apathetic and are eager to express their democratic right.
POLSOC believes in providing students with as much information as possible in a respectful and interesting environment so as to make an informed political choice.
"Our first forum on the economy was well attended and widely enjoyed, and we look forward to further informing students as well as encouraging them to get enrolled and make their voice heard, whomever they eventually vote for." concludes POLSOC President Michael Couch
