Top British Scholarship up for Grabs
Top British Scholarship up for Grabs
A
scholarship for New Zealand’s top young graduates is now
only weeks away from closing.
The Chevening Scholarship is for a year of postgraduate study at a British centre of Higher Education and is aimed at graduates with the potential to be future leaders.
The scholarship, which is offered in over 150 countries, is worth £18,000 and covers airfares, tuition and living expenses. The candidate will be selected by the British High Commission in Wellington.
Last year’s winner Grace Lee, who is nearing the end of her studies at Cambridge University, says it was a unique opportunity. The Canterbury University Masters student is currently still in the United Kingdom.
“The
Chevening scholarship was critical in making it possible for
me to do my postgraduate studies at Cambridge, and so has
opened up a huge number of opportunities: the chance to live
in the UK, to attend one of the country’s most prestigious
universities and to become part of a global network of
alumni.”
Grace says that Cambridge exceeded her
expectations. “It's hard to believe that in such a short
time I've already made a close circle of friends and pushed
the boundaries of my intellectual, social and cultural
understanding. This valuable scholarship has enabled me to
make the most of my studies and my time at
Cambridge.”
Completed applications must be submitted by
27 April 2010. To see more go to:
