Ministry statement on
bargaining
Secretary for Education Karen
Sewell today announced that initiation of bargaining for the
state and state-integrated teachers and principals’
collective agreements can begin.
“I hope that formal bargaining will begin soon,” Karen Sewell said.
“Our goal is to reach a constructive settlement with the unions.”
Karen Sewell said that the Government is very clear that it requires pay restraint across the State sector.
“We are all well aware of the current fiscal environment, and the need for restraint,” she said.
