Teachers’ pay will not be docked
Teachers’ pay will not be docked
The
Ministry of Education will not dock the pay of secondary
teachers refusing to teach specific year levels on
particular days this week.
This decision has been made in the interests of showing good faith to the PPTA and encouraging them back to the bargaining table, said Group Manager Education Workforce Fiona McTavish.
The Ministry will continue to urge the PPTA to call off industrial action planned for the rest of Term 4 and to get back to bargaining.
