Careerforce Christchurch Office to Reopen
One of New Zealand’s largest industry training organizations is based in Christchurch and will reopen for business tomorrow, Wednesday, 02 March.
Careerforce works with employers to provide on-job training for workers in the aged care, health and disability, and community support services sectors.
Dr Ian Hall, Acting Chief Executive of Careerforce, explained that the staff of Careerforce want to get back to work to support trainees and their employers. “We are all coping with our issues but we are keen to get back to work and provide on-going training to others”.
Dr Hall praised the efforts of authorities to restore essential services in Christchurch thus allowing for a speedy resumption of business.
“We know that our own staff will continue to face challenges in the weeks ahead, and we will be providing all necessary support,” Dr Hall said.
Dr Hall also welcomed a meeting called by the Industry Training Federation in Wellington for Thursday of this week. The meeting will discuss ongoing support for the industry training organizations that are based in Christchurch
