Secretary for Education welcomes Kindergarten settlement
Secretary for Education Lesley Longstone today welcomed ratification of the Kindergarten Teachers, Head Teachers and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement (KTCA) 2011-2013.
“I’m very pleased teachers have accepted and ratified this settlement, which is good for teachers and for employers,” said Lesley Longstone.
“The new KTCA tidies up some areas concerning coverage under the collective agreement and teaching hours at certain types of kindergarten. It’s a sound and practical settlement that recognises kindergarten teachers received a pay increase of 2.75% in February this year”.
Lesley Longstone said she looked forward to the New Year starting with the KTCA ratified. “It’s excellent news for teachers, employers, and communities,” she said.
