TAPAC Still Providing Classes & Workshops for the Masses

TAPAC Still Providing Classes & Workshops for the Masses

October 11 2012 - As the summer draws nearer, Western Springs-based The Auckland Performance Arts Centre (TAPAC) is furiously busy with not only finishing their October Holiday programme, upgrading the bathrooms and increasing the capacity of the theatre by 20%, they are also running their Term 4 courses for all ages.

Although it is well known that The Performing Arts School has ceased operations, TAPAC has taken on the programme, offering the same high calibre classes and courses to performers across Auckland – under their TAPAC Performing Arts Programme umbrella.

“There has been some confusion and it’s important for people to know this” TAPAC director Margaret-Mary Hollins has commented. “Continuing with the excellent teaching standard and while introducing new tutors and further developing the programme, TAPAC still has dynamic classes on offer to educate, enrich and engage, not just aspiring performing artists, but all Aucklanders with an interest in what we have to offer!”

TAPAC have brought together an incredible group of tutors for these classes, all professionals within the art world and include Eve Gordon, Nisha Madhan, Cyan Corwinne, Mark Clare, Fiona Edgar, Rita Stone, Tim Bray, Richie Cesan, Cathy Livermore, the infamous Clare Battesby and Hollins herself – to name a mere few.

The entire programme caters to all ages, with different age ranges grouped together for specific classes. Registrations are still open for Term 4, so enrol now and learn from some of the best arts practitioners Auckland has to offer.
