New Manager appointed to Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs
YOUth Inspire - the Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs is pleased to announce the appointment of Bronson Wharehinga as its new manager.
Mr Wharehinga will lead the team tasked with placing young people into meaningful opportunities in employment, training and education.
While the Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs is a national initiative, championed by Mayors across New Zealand, locally it’s being successfully piloted with youth from Wainuiomata.
Trust Chairman Matt Reid says, “We are delighted with this appointment and see it as another key step to ensuring all our young people can be engaged in employment, on-going education and/or training.”
Mr Wharehinga most recently worked as a Sports Project leader at Hutt City Council and says, “My passion is working with young people and in this next phase of the Taskforce’s work I intend to develop stronger relationships with local businesses and organisations to ensure our youth have sustainable opportunities that help them build strong futures.
“The Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs has already placed more than 100 young people in jobs, training and education and I look forward to continuing and growing that good work.”
Mr Wharehinga will begin his new position on 15 June 2015.
