Palmerston North 02 May 2017 - Harinder Kaur, the technician at Palmerston North Girls High School, is the first person in the Manawatu to complete REAL.AC.NZ's School Science Laboratory Technician Programme.
That programme includes a module called “Core Skills and Knowledge for School Technicians” and one called “Specialised Skills and Knowledge for School Technicians”.
“Harinder had already been working as PNGHS's technician. Therefore, she came into the programme with relevant skills. It was great to see her expand her capabilities. It was also great seeing her understanding increase for some of the things she was already doing” said Dr Paul Demchick, who coordinates that programme.
