PPTA Area School Members Go Back To Negotiations For New Collective Agreement
PPTA Te Wehengarua will return to negotiations for a new collective agreement for area school teachers, despite members having voted to accept the offer for settlement made by the Public Service Commissioner late last year.
“PPTA and NZEI TE Riu Roa area school members voted differently on the offer, with NZEI members choosing to reject it. As this is a joint union collective agreement both PPTA and NZEI members must accept the offer for a new collective to be agreed,” says Chris Abercrombie, PPTA Te Wehengarua president.
He said PPTA would work closely with NZEI Te Riu Toa to achieve a settlement of the Area School Teachers’ Collective Agreement.
