Italian Cyclist On NZ Mountain Bike Trek

The Italian cyclist Paolo VENTURINI will be arriving in New Zealand on 13 August 2000 to undertake a challenging solo mountain bike trek without any technical assistance whatsoever covering the North and South Islands of New Zealand over a distance of approximately 1800 kilometres with the good will of New Zealand local authorities and the support of local sponsors.
He will be met at Auckland by the Chief Administrative Officer of the Italian Embassy in New Zealand and the Honorary Consular Agent of Italy in Auckland. Mountain bike enthusiasts and fans who would like to greet and cheer Paolo Venturini on may do so at the Auckland Heritage Hotel on Sunday afternoon, 13 August.
