Epuni Opening
Child, Youth
and Family’s new 20-bed Epuni Care and Protection Unit will
be officially opened at 10.30am on Thursday 12 July by the
Minister of Social Services and Employment Steve
Maharey.
Media are very welcome to attend the opening
ceremony at 441 Riverside Drive, Lower Hutt.
The new
Epuni unit will provide secure care and treatment for
children and young people who have been abused, neglected or
who have problem behaviours.
The first residents are due
at the centre by late July.
An open day will be held at
Epuni on Saturday 14 July and media are also welcome to
attend this
event.
