Australian recalled products not in New Zealand
The New Zealand Food Safety Authority has been advised that none of the 219 Pan Pharmaceuticals products recalled in Australia are on sale in New Zealand. However we are yet to identify products manufactured by Pan Pharmaceuticals but sold under different brand names.
“The dietary supplement industry advised us late this afternoon that after reviewing all available information they did not believe any of the products were on sale in New Zealand,” NZFSA executive director Dr Andrew McKenzie said.
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration on Monday suspended the licence of Pan Pharmaceuticals and requested the recall of 219 of its products because of “serious concerns about the quality and safety of products manufactured by this company”.
The New Zealand Food Safety Authority expects to have a comprehensive list of all Pan Pharmaceuticals products manufactured for other companies by tomorrow morning. This will include products that are manufactured by Pan Pharmaceuticals but sold under a different brand name which may be available for sale in New Zealand.
As soon as we
have that information we will advise the
public.
