Response to MP's comments re Nelson complaint
"I have spoken to Nelson MP Nick Smith. I do not accept that his criticisms are justified. More importantly, I have spoken to the family and assured them the Advocacy Service will continue to support them, and that I expect the Canterbury DHB to report back to me on the systemic issues that are being followed up. I have also spoken to the CEO of the DHB, who assures me that this will happen.
I await receipt of Mr Smith's complaint about the broader issue of coordination of services between Nelson and Christchurch hospitals."
