Generous Donation Gives Some Hope To Nepalese.
A frantic search for funding to ship container loads of medicines and medical equipment to Nepal was solved by the Hugh Green Trust recently. New Zealand based charity Medicine Mondiale, was running out of options to ensure the donated shipment could be on its way.
The Hugh Green Trust had seen an article on Ray Avery and Medicine Mondiale and liked what they were doing and wanted to help. "It was just in the nick of time, as the medicines are desperately needed in Nepal," said Ray Avery, Founder of Medicine Mondiale which is a charity dedicated to assisting developing countries establish locally managed sustainable healthcare services.
"The medicines and medical equipment will make a huge difference to the poorest of the poor in Nepal," continued Avery, "as the situation is rapidly deteriorating and life saving essential medicines are urgently needed". Because of the ongoing state of emergency in Nepal, and the near paralysis of government and not for profit organisations, many hospitals have not received essential life saving medicines for over a year and are struggling for survival.
Donations can be made on line at www.medicinemondiale.org or by cheque to Medicine Mondiale, PO Box 67086, Mt Eden, Auckland.
