Tielcey Park to Support CatWalk Trust

Tielcey Park to Support CatWalk Trust

Tielcey Park Equestrian Centre in Aokautere, near Palmerston North, has pledged to support the CatWalk Trust. CatWalk was established for the purpose of finding a cure for spinal cord injuries. Tielcey Park, recently been purchased by Clarity Group Limited, has pledged 10% of their pre-tax profits to the Trust for the next ten years. The CatWalk Trustees originally gathered together because of common links to a friend critically injured in a riding accident. That friend was Catriona Williams - now a C6-7 tetraplegic.

Initially the group planned to fundraise for Williams herself – but a bigger picture quickly became clear. A cure for all was Williams’ dream – and so CatWalk was born. As CEO for The CatWalk Trust, Colleen Young said “we are honored to have such magnificent support for our Trust. This on-going support from Tielcey Park will continue to assist us with providing more funds to contribute to finding a cure for spinal cord injury.”

The Founder of the Trust, Catriona Williams, commented “I’m personally thrilled that the initiative of Tielcey Park’s new Managing Director, Margo Aasen, has been able to combine my two greatest passions: spending money on all things equestrian and the CatWalk Trust. Tielcey Park is a fantastic equestrian facility and one that I made the most of during my riding years.”

When asked why Tielcey Park is supporting CatWalk, Margo Aasen, explained “because we can. Spinal injuries are a moment away for many of us riders, and we now in a position to make a significant contribution to support the Trust. Catriona is an example to all of us – her perseverance, courage and positive attitude inspire us all.” Margo is a life member of the XL Results Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to the Mission of World Wide Wealth: Growing our collective power to create and contribute wealth through Social Enterprise.
