Smokefree Coalition Website Launched
The Smokefree Coalition today launched its new website at www.sfc.org.nz.
Director Mark Peck said the new site is a natural progression for the Coalition. “It will become a vital tool in our work to spread the smokefree message, and encourage debate about tobacco control issues.”
The Smokefree Coalition represents 23 organisations including the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation, Cancer Society of New Zealand and National Heart Foundation. The new site carries information about the organisation’s aims and objectives, as well as serving as a publicly accessible “treasure trove” of tobacco control documents and resources.
Mark Peck said the Coalition’s proudest moment had to be the passage of the Smoke-free Environments Amendment Act in 2003 which made all New Zealand’s indoor workplaces, including bars and restaurants, smokefree.
“As you look through the site the history of the Coalition is there for all to see. It is one of colour and commitment,” he said.
