New Zealand Red Cross Calling: Annual Appeal 2007
New Zealand Red Cross will be calling next week, collecting for their annual appeal that starts on Monday 26 February and runs through until Sunday 4 March.
Collectors will be throughout the community gathering donations in a variety of ways - from traditional door knocking, phone calls, and street appeals to cake stalls and raffles. The easiest way to help New Zealand Red Cross is by calling 0900 733 26 to make a $10 donation.
365 days a year, New Zealand Red Cross helps those who are sometimes unable to help themselves. Over 24,000 New Zealanders per week are helped out in some way by the Red Cross.
This year, Red Cross hopes to draw attention to the wide range of services being provided by New Zealanders for New Zealanders in their own communities.
The range of services Red Cross facilitates and delivers is diverse: from meals on wheels and breakfast in schools to first aid training, emergency welfare assistance, refugee support and programmed visits to the sick and aged.
New Zealand Red Cross is part of the biggest humanitarian organisation in the world, and is independent of government and religious, cultural or political affiliations.
This year it is New Zealand Red Cross' turn to ask for help. Help the Red Cross help those who sometimes can't help themselves.
On line donations can be made at www.redcross.org.nz.
