ACC’s Awareness Campaign Positive
ACC’s Awareness Campaign Positive
While Access Support Services agrees ACC’s “Covered” advertisement was technically misleading, we do not feel it should overshadow the positive steps ACC has taken in recent months to inform claimants and levy payers.
One move that we are very pleased with is the information about resolving issues ACC sends out with every decision it makes.
Not only does ACC inform claimants about the dispute resolution processes available to claimants, including mediation, it also informs claimants how ACC can contribute to the cost of claimant representation. ACC goes further and advises claimants to approach the Citizens Advice Bureau for a list of advocates in their area.
So while ACC will never get every decision right, the processes are in place to resolve issues. It is up to claimants to take advantage of the dispute resolution processes available to them and the costs ACC can contribute towards claimant representation.
