Dick Stark, Joint Health Portfolio Holder for the NZ Grey Power Federation today stated that because of the disarray apparent within the administrative areas of Health and the emphasis being placed on funding rather than, care it is time to rethink the present structures and implement changes.
Stark advocates that it appears that since the introduction of Health Board CEO’s there has been disharmony and feels it is now time to revert back to the “Matron in Charge” of care giving in the Hospital situation.
There are far too many people involved in “Middle Management” and funding that should be made available to the nursing staff is being unaccountably used by Middle Management personal.
Stark also feels that the 21 Health Boards in NZ leads to too much duplication and again is using funds that could be used to greater advantage.
