ACC Comment On NZPA Story
ADDITIONAL COMMENT - NZPA STORY -
"BASHED GIRL SAW `WHITE LIGHT” WITH EACH BLOW, COURT TOLD"
ACC wishes to respond to the statement in this story that "She then made her way to Hawke’s Bay Hospital, but left when she found filling out forms for accident compensation too hard."
ACC Comment
"If an injured person is unable to complete any forms at an emergency department it is ACC's firm expectation that hospital staff will do it on their behalf. If necessary an ACC claim can initially be lodged without input from the person concerned.
no-one should miss out on treatment because they cannot fill in an ACC form. We are very concerned to hear about this situation and will be seeking clarification from the Hawkes Bay hospital," said Gerard McGreevy, ACC's Chief Operating Officer.
