Press Release from Deborah Coburn

Collective Support for Breast Cancer Research

Gorgeous fashion images set in stunning Queenstown locations are to grace the pages of a 2008 calendar with all retail sales proceeds donated to the Breast Cancer Research Trust.

Queenstown hairstylist Deborah Coburn of Collective Hair is the drive behind the calendar which is designed to celebrate New Zealand’s feminine dedication to fashion while supporting the prevention of a disease that has devastating effects on untold New Zealanders.

“My vision for this concept came from a recent photo shoot I worked on for an overseas travel magazine. I was inspired by the finished results and thought it would be amazing to use them to benefit this worthwhile charity.

“The aim is to help grow awareness around the need for funding Breast Cancer research. I love the way these images reflect the beauty of women and nature while also promoting our fabulous fashion industry. These things are all interconnected. New Zealand women love nature and beauty and adore fashion, particularly New Zealand fashion, and New Zealand women and their families are far too often decimated by breast cancer.”

The 12 shots by photographer Elizabeth Allnutt feature clothing by Trelise Cooper, Tanya Carlson, Helen Cherry, Zambesi, Miranda Brown, and Overland Footwear modeled by Amanda Mitchell of 62 Models.

Deborah says support for her concept has been amazing.

“It’s been a collaborative project. Everyone involved has freely given their time and creative energy, one national and 12 fantastic Queenstown businesses have come up with the funding to get the calendars printed.”

Overland Footwear will sell the calendars through their 27 shops nationwide.
Davines hair products range is a national sponsor and the following local business each sponsored a page of the calendar: Shotover Jet, Carpet Court, Kiwi Mortgage Market, Pig and Whistle, Garden Court, AJ Hackett, Shoot New Zealand, Collective Hair Design, More FM, The Remarkables ski area , Queenstown Medical Centre and Browns Ski Shop.

Ms Coburn plans to print 10,000 calendars which will sell for $17.50 including GST each and raise a total of $155,000 for Breast Cancer Research Trust.
