Tourism Strategy 2015
7 November 2007
“We are delighted with the recognition shown to domestic tourism in the 2015 Tourism Strategy released today” said Michael Baines Chief Executive of the Motel Association of New Zealand.
“70% of Motel customers are New Zealand and are the reason we can offer our international visitors the accommodation infrastructure that exists” said Mr Baines
“We applaud the efforts of the Minister, Tourism New Zealand, The Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Industry Association for their efforts in putting such an excellent document together” said Mr Baines. “It is our job now to work with the relevant agencies and organisations to implement the aims of the strategy”.
“Tourism in New Zealand is a major industry that involves all of New Zealand; we are all hosts to all visitors. Our communities, businesses and individuals all benefit from tourism both directly and indirectly. The more we make it easier and enjoyable for the visitor the more we benefit” said Mr Baines.
“This document gives us all the “Blue print” for the future!”
