ABN AMRO Craigs to partner hospice

Wellington, November 14, 2007.- NEW ZEALAND'S largest investment advisory firm plans to help people with terminal illness through a new partnership launched publicly today.

ABN AMRO Craigs has joined forces with Hospice New Zealand in a three-year partnership that will see its 16 branches partner with hospices in their regions.

The partnership was officially launched at a special function at Waipuna Hospice in Tauranga today.

Each ABN AMRO Craigs branch will link up with its local hospice to raise much-needed funds and awareness of the services hospices provide. All funds raised locally will remain locally.

Hospice New Zealand chief executive Mary Schumacher is delighted with the new venture and says it will benefit the hospices and community as a whole.

"ABN AMRO has already been supporting hospices in some communities for a while now so becoming a national partner of Hospice New Zealand will take the relationship to the next level.

"They were at a point where they wanted to come together and do something meaningful with their community, and it's fantastic that they've chosen to support us.

"By raising money and awareness through joint projects it will, in turn, help to ensure hospice services remain free."

ABN AMRO Craigs' head office will also make an annual donation to Hospice New Zealand to enable it to continue to support its members throughout the country.

ABN AMRO Craigs chief executive Frank Aldridge said the company was excited about becoming a national partner of Hospice New Zealand and is looking forward to helping promote the amazing work that hospices provide throughout the country.
