Each Jesse Ryder Run Is $100 For Child Cancer

Mike Pero Mortgages has thrown its support behind hard-hitting Black Caps and Wellington batsman Jesse Ryder – and the Child Cancer Foundation will benefit as a result.

“Each run Jesse scores in tonight’s Twenty/20 match at AMI Stadium in Christchurch will be worth $100 to the Child Cancer Foundation,” says Mike Pero.

The cash will be donated by Mike Pero Mortgages, New Zealand’s largest independent arranger of home loans.

“We are delighted to be able to support Jesse and hope for both the Black Caps and Child Cancer’s sakes that he scores a quick 50.”

“Martin Crowe suggested that I should get behind Jesse and support him – so here I am. Jesse has been criticised because of his weight but I think we should give him a break. The selectors obviously see he has talent and we should trust their judgement.”

“Drawing attention to Jesse’s weight and making it an issue is not encouraging for young people keen to play cricket and who may be slightly overweight themselves. Surely it’s much better to be active and enjoy sport and not be worried about being criticised.”
