Get planting this winter!
Every year Manukau Parks co-ordinates community planting days across the city, giving residents the opportunity to make a difference to the environment by helping protect and enhance their local reserves.
Those with itchy green fingers can join other keen volunteers for planting events throughout the city. For dates and times visit: www.manukau.govt.nz/parks - key words: community plantings.
Volunteers should bring boots, water to drink and a spade if they have one.
Trudy McNie, one of Manukau Parks’ team of rangers says:
“As well as learning more about the environment, it’s also a great fun and free event for the family and a chance for neighbours to get to know each other. We all know we need trees and plants to survive so I’d encourage anyone who’s free on these days to come along and get planting!”
