A Painful Waxing and 1000k to Go
When Martin Feeney’s cousin got breast cancer, he remembered his own bout with Hodgkin’s lymphoma 19 years ago. He wanted to step up, especially to assist those practitioners that had helped him out.
On 12 November 2009, instead of cycling his normal 8k route to work, Martin will be joined by friends Keryn Goble, Darin Millar and Rose Hutchinson for ``Martin’s Long Ride to Work’’ – a 1000k ride from Wellington to Auckland.
Martin’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Trust. To up the ante, Martin offered to undergo one leg waxing if his work mates donated $2500. They stumped up and friends and family covered, or rather, uncovered the other leg – all in the name of slip streaming.
Martin’s Long Ride to Work starts at 9.30am on 12 November and will depart from 50 Customhouse Quay in Wellington.

cause you can visit his website: www.longridetowork.co.nz.
