ADHB Welcomes Elective Theatres
The Auckland District Health Board is delighted with the announcement today by the Minister of Health that the four elective surgical theatres planned for Greenlane Clinical Centre have been given the go ahead.
“The signal to proceed is fantastic given the enormous opportunities this development brings,” says Garry Smith, Chief Executive, Auckland District Health Board.
“These new theatres will allow us to offer Aucklanders even better access to care than we do now. By having more theatre capacity in a dedicated elective surgical centre there will be less disruption due to the presentations of acute patients requiring urgent surgery.”
The new theatres will be developed at the Greenlane Clinical Centre.
“The work will take place in
a number of phases, with completion planned for 2011,”
says Mr
Smith.
