New Ambulance Service for Central Otago
New Ambulance Service for Central Otago
Today Junction Emergency Medical Service Limited (Junction EMS) are pleased to announce the launching of a new Ambulance Patient Transport Service for Central Otago.
Junction EMS has been initiated by the Directors of Junction Health Limited, a Rural General Practice in Cromwell. Junction Health is a brand new Multidisciplinary Medical Centre containing Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists & Occupational Therapists, midwives, visiting specialists and an Optometrist. It also provides A&E type services for its patients.
Junction EMS will provide inter-hospital patient transport from Dunstan Hospital to Dunedin Public Hospital for routine patients. The sort of patients typically transported will be Patients needing ambulance transport to a specialist service or hospital appointments in Dunedin or within Central Otago.
The Directors of Junction EMS would like to make it clear that we are not an Emergency Ambulance Service Provider. Our intention is to provide additional access to non urgent ambulance services in and out of Central Otago. However if on occasion an emergency ambulance is not available, to provide emergency transportation for patients from Dunstan Hospital to Dunedin, then Junction EMS is equipped and able to provide emergency transport if required.
Patients ringing 111 will not be able to access Junction EMS.
The vehicle is a Nissan factory built 4 wheel drive Elgrand ICU Ambulance which is heated and air-conditioned. It has all the equipment required to provide safe and professional transportation of patients. An additional feature of the vehicle is its ability to run advanced monitoring and patient care equipment simultaneously, ideal for more complex patients needing intensively managed care en-route.
The directors of Junction EMS have a combined 41 years of experience in providing ambulance, patient transport and rescue services both in New Zealand and Australia. Junction EMS would like to acknowledge the generous support of a number of local Central Otago Businesses including McLellan Motors, and Metrografix Signwriters.
We look forward to developing this exciting and new addition to the Junction Health group of services to benefit the people of Central Otago.
