Domestic violence helpline number changes

Domestic violence helpline number changes

Shine* has changed its free national domestic violence number to 0508 744 633.

The new number, which went live last week, is more user-friendly and will be easier for people to remember.

Until 14 August, clients who ring the old number, 0508 DV HELP, will be automatically put through to the new number.

From 14 August onwards, any callers to 0508 DV HELP will hear a message asking the caller to hang up and ring our new number. This message will be live for one year.

Last year there were over 11,000 callers to the helpline from across New Zealand.

Shine*, Safer Homes in New Zealand Everyday, is a national charity committed to making homes safe from domestic violence.
