Vensa Health to present at mHealth World Congress 2010, Singapore

Auckland, New Zealand - Tuesday 12 October 2010
- Vensa Health will present at the mHealth World Congress 2010 in Singapore next week on mHealth in New Zealand and future trends. The event brings together global leaders from across the entire mobile healthcare ecosystem including healthcare and medical, mobile operators, wireless providers, medical technology and information solutions, to look at strategies for mobile health with a focus on standardization and integration.

Ahmad Jubbawey, CEO, Vensa Health says, "m-Health is fast becoming a way to transform healthcare delivery. An increasing demand for personalised care, rising costs and other challenges facing the health sector are the key motivations for mHealth communications between health providers and people."

Mr. Jubbawey will deliver a case study on mHealth applications in New Zealand and how mobile health is assisting with improving health outcomes across primary and secondary care on a personal, collective and system level and the reasons behind the success.

"Vensa has changed the way health providers communicate with their patients in New Zealand. Instead of printing letters and making phone calls, GP providers and hospitals can to text-message for applications such as appointment reminders, medication reminders, test results alerts, recalls for screenings such as mammograms, immunisations and more. People respond to this personal technology and in turn have better health outcomes, says Mr. Jubbawey.

"New Zealand GP providers and hospitals using Vensa Health's systems have experienced impressive improvements in appointment attendance, immunisation rates and efficiency. Ministries of Health and policy makers can use mHealth technologies to promote health and target key health initiatives. We've been able to target key government priority health targets, such as increased immunisation for 2 year olds in a really targeted way."

Mr. Jubbawey will also talk about the impact the mHealth initiatives can have on developing countries globally where an estimated one billion people are under served.

Vensa Health's TXT2Remind practice-patient messaging system delivers appointment reminders, screening and immunisation reminders, health advice, medication reminders and laboratory results direct to the patient.

The mHealth World Congress 2010 is taking place between 18 and 19 October at the Concorde Hotel, Singapore http://www.symphonyglobal.com
