The Royal NZ Foundation of the Blind seeks Canterbury members

The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (RNZFB) is asking all its blind, partially sighted and deafblind members who have relocated as a result of the Christchurch earthquake, to please contact the RNZFB immediately on 0800 24 33 33 if they have not done so already.

RNZFB Chief Executive Sandra Budd says, “We have made contact with the majority of our 1,200 members in the wider Canterbury region to check on their safety and wellbeing. There are still some members we haven’t managed to touch base with where phone lines were disconnected or these members have left the area”.

“A team of RNZFB staff is now on the ground in Christchurch to ensure services are given to those members in need. In order to focus our limited resources we would greatly appreciate our members urgently calling us if we have not yet been able to make contact.”
