Launch of the Love Letters Foundation
Launch of the Love Letters Foundation
In March 2007 our daughter Frances was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer stage 4 and we were told that there was little chance of survival. Out of the blue, a wonderful woman called Sam befriended Frances and gave her something that all the medicine in the world could not - joy and love that made a real difference. Frances's spirits were lifted immensely by her friend and by the letters and emails.
The Love Letters Foundation is a New Zealand registered charitable trust formed so that we can help to bring the spirit of "Sam" to seriously ill and traumatised children (including those affected by the Christchurch earthquake).
Love Letters works my matching a kind adult to a child as a penpal. We also offer the opportunity to have the child feature on our website so that they receive a range of cheerful letters and greetings from visitors to our site. For Christchurch children and schools we offer the possibility of being befriended as a classroom or as a school by a similar group elsewhere in New Zeeland
Please visit our website for more details of this exciting charity or to apply to register your child or school, or to apply to befriend a child.
