54 Free Health Checks in Just Three Hours!
In celebration of Men's Health Week, Age Concern North Shore has put on an event to help men take that practical step to get a check-up, with an enthusiastic response.
In collaboration with Harbour Health PHO, a keen supporter of Men's Health Week, the Age Concern Men's Health Pit Stop checks performed 54 free checks on men in three hours, with 25 men also seeing a skin specialist on site for a small fee.
The checks were held at the Browns Bay Bowling Club, a venue that the organiser chose in order to try to overcome a man’s negative mindset of 'going to the doctor'.
The checks included blood pressure, blood sugar, calculation of BMI, waist measurement and a discussion of the results.
