Statement On Recall Of Kronic Pineapple Express
Lightyears Ahead Limited was advised today by the Ministry of Health that one synthetic cannabinoid blend distributed by Lightyears has been found to have been contaminated by a small amount (300 parts per million) of the prescription medicine phenazepam.
Kronic Pineapple Express is not intended to contain phenazepam, and Lightyears was not aware that it contained phenazepam. Phenazepam is usually used to treat neurological disorders such as epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal syndrome and insomnia.
On the request of the Ministry of Health, Lightyears is immediately withdrawing Kronic Pineapple Express from sale. Retailers and distributors are requested to immediately return all unsold Pineapple Express product to Lightyears.
Lightyears will continue to fully cooperate with requests by the Ministry of Health in respect of Pineapple Express. Lightyears will be carrying out a full investigation to determine the source of the phenazepam contamination, to prevent it happening again.
