Call for job applicants to reapply or contact Waikato DHB
Waikato District Health Board wants to hear from as many as 250 people who applied for jobs with it this week.
The DHB's hosted server handles online job applications for Waikato DHB’s website www.waikatodhb.health.nz and was disrupted earlier this week.
The system is now under
control and investigations continue but there is a backlog.
Closing date for 17 jobs closed this week. The DHB
averages between 40-50 job applications a day – in the
lead up to a closing date that can rise to about 100. It's
probable that none of the applications made it to the server
as a result of the disruption.
Waikato DHB has in excess of 280,000 hits to its website every month, 80 per cent of them from people looking for jobs.
“Using our online job application system is by far and away the most preferred option for candidates,” said general manager human resources Fiona McCarthy, pictured left.
“In addition, we always get many applications from overseas – places like Australia, the United Kingdom and India are particularly active in looking in our market.”

jobs affected this week are:

• District Nurses, Morrinsville, Te Kuiti,
Tokoroa
• Administration Support, Te Kuiti
• Pharmacists
• Nurse Educator, Paediatrics
• Occupational Therapist
• Administrators /
General Clerical
• Registered Nurses
“We’ve put a notice on our website. What we’re asking people to do to ensure their job application has been received is to email us on recruit@waikatodhb.health.nz so we can check,” said Ms McCarthy. “We’ve also extended job applications for the affected positions to Wednesday 14 December.”
