Soul Fertility Opens Natural Fertility Clinic On North Shore
PRESS RELEASE – 10th January 2011
New Service For Couples Trying To Conceive - Soul Fertility Opens Natural Fertility Clinic On The North Shore
Soul Fertility has just launched its new service in the East Coast Bays offering Natural Fertility Consultations for people who are trying to naturally achieve or avoid a pregnancy.
Jo Hayes, Soul Fertility’s owner knows what it’s like to struggle with sub-fertility having experienced it herself. An ectopic pregnancy resulting in the removal of one of her fallopian tubes, ovarian cysts and endometriosis were all on her own personal medical history. “I thought that my journey to motherhood would be a long and complicated one, possibly requiring medical intervention, but then I found out about Natural Family Planning from my acupuncturist and I felt empowered. I learnt how to track my cycles and work out my most fertile time and 8 months later I was pregnant!”
As many as one in five New Zealand
couples experience problems or delays in becoming pregnant
and Jo believes that with a little bit of education and
knowledge many more people like herself can be helped to
achieve a pregnancy sooner. “I realised as soon as I fell
pregnant using this method, that I wanted to help other
people in a similar situation to me, so I searched the
internet and discovered Natural Fertility New Zealand who
run courses to teach people to become Natural Fertility
Educators, so I enrolled. I was 5 months pregnant at the
time and a walking testimony of how great the method
worked!” Studying whilst pregnant and then with a young
baby was not easy, but Jo was determined to see it through
and is now a qualified & accredited Natural Fertility
Educator with Natural Fertility New Zealand. And her
business Soul Fertility was born!
Jo teaches a method
which combines features of scientifically based,
traditional, natural family planning. "It involves observing
and understanding your body and its changes and knowing when
you are fertile or not by charting cervical mucus, basal
body temperature and changes in the cervix. Any woman,
whether their menstrual cycle is regular or not can use this
method. We are all different, it is just a case of learning
a little more about ourselves!”
This method can
also be used to prevent a pregnancy. "It's at least 98 per
cent effective, which is the same as the mini-pill, and of
course totally natural, no drugs or chemicals." says Jo.
"Clients are usually seen for three sessions and the
guidelines are taught. Once they're used to charting, they
can use the charts very accurately and know exactly when
their fertile time is. And then, they have a choice whether
to abstain or use a barrier method."
There are now six
natural fertility educators covering most areas in Auckland.
Please see the Natural Fertility New Zealand website on
www.naturalfertility.co.nz for more details. Soul Fertility
is based in Torbay but Jo also offers home visits all around
the North Shore
area.
