4 October 2012: Orion Health, New Zealand's largest privately owned software exporter and a global leader in eHealth technology, had its new offices in Auckland opened yesterday by the Right Honorable John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand.

The move to the new Grafton Road location was necessary due to the continual growth and burgeoning success Orion Health is currently experiencing both here and overseas. The company has retained its international corporate head office and main development center in Auckland since its foundation nearly 20 years ago. The office itself boasts an open plan layout of over 4400 square meters, with dedicated scrum areas provided to help foster greater levels of collaboration and teamwork in order to produce creative thinking and world class innovation. The move provides Orion Health the opportunity to expand its Auckland based staff to 430 people of a total 680 global workforce.

Orion Health CEO, Ian McCrae said the company's unwavering focus on the development and delivery of design-led healthcare software has seen the company rise to become a global leader and recently achieve its goal of becoming a $100m revenue company.

The company is a major employer of what McCrae calls 'the engine rooms of the future". In the past year alone Orion Health hired 41 young IT graduates from leading New Zealand Universities and plans to double that number over the next financial year. It also created 180 new jobs globally, of which more than 100 are based in New Zealand.

Mr. McCrae, who is a strong and passionate advocate for advances in IT at all levels of education, said the company continued to attract the best and brightest talent from New Zealand and around the world. He believes the drive to hire highly skilled, innovative and driven personnel has been a key factor in the steady revenue growth of the company over the past five years.
