College of GPs releases positions on tobacco, health equity and Pacific peoples' health
The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners has released position statements on tobacco, health equity and Pacific peoples’ health.
College President Dr Tim Malloy says the position statements reflect an increased focus within the health sector on some important issues.
‘Our position statements put a stake in the ground and will enable the College to send a message to government, the health sector and its own members about “the GP view” on topics that resonate with many New Zealanders.’
The three statements were developed with reference to recent literature, existing College documents and the position statements of other health organisations in New Zealand and overseas. They have been subject to significant internal peer and member review.
The position statements are on the College website at www.rnzcgp.org.nz/position-statements-2
