Gastrointestinal Cancers – Know anyone that it has affected?

Gastrointestinal Cancers – Know anyone that it has affected?

Gastrointestinal cancers (cancers of the oesophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas and bowel) are collectively the most common form of cancer in New Zealand. With nearly 4,000 new diagnoses each year, most New Zealanders are likely to know someone who is affected.

The GI Cancer Institute invites you to come hear some of New Zealand’s leading Gastrointestinal medical specialists discuss GI cancers, evolving treatments and the hope brought by medical research. Our Panel discussion will feature: Professor Michael Findlay, Chair of Oncology in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland; Grant Beban, General, Upper GI & Bariatric surgeon at Auckland Hospital; Arend Merrie, Head of Colorectal Surgery Unit Auckland Hospital; Clare Walls, Academic Director of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Auckland; and stories of hope from GI cancer survivors Paul Hargreaves and Grant Baker.

All proceeds will help the GI Cancer Institute to support clinical research and help achieve better outcomes for GI cancer patients.
