Assault victim airlifted to hospital
This morning around 0430 hrs the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to Opotiki where a 17 year old local girl had been knocked unconscious in an alleged assault. The girl was with a group of friends celebrating school graduation when a fight broke out in the towns main street. The girl was knocked unconscious and remained so for some time, the Trustpower TECT rescue helicopter was tasked to fly her to Tauranga hospital because of a potential serious head injury.
