We need your pjs for our Waikids, say Chiefs
The Chiefs Super 15 rugby team are running a “We Need your PJs” campaign and are calling upon Chiefs fans to donate new kids warm sleepwear, singlets and socks that will be given to patients at Waikids and families in need upon leaving Waikato Hospital.
Waikato DHB Child Health clinical unit leader Dr Dave Graham welcomed the special partnership between the Chiefs and the DHB.
“When you rush your really sick kid to hospital – and it’s often from a long way away – you’re not thinking about what you need when you go home.
“And you can’t get home to get them.
“That’s where the pyjamas, the singlets and the socks come in. We can help parents get their kids back home warm and getting better.
“It’s helping parents help their (Wai)kids.”
For those wanting to make a donation they are asked to drop off their new sleepwear, socks and singlets in any kids sizes to the Chiefs Headquarters or courier them to Chiefs Rugby, Bisley Road, Ruakura Research Centre, Hamilton prior to the 19th December 2014.
