Life Flight Transports injured horse rider from the Wairarapa Coast
At 5:00pm this this afternoon [12 Jan]
the Life Flight Trust was responded to the Wairarapa Coast
to a horse rider who had fallen off his horse.
Life Flight responded in the Westpac Rescue Helicopter with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic on board.
A horse rider in his teens was thrown from his horse when it reared and then fell on him. The rider suffered lower leg injuries.
The Helicopter was able to land in the paddock next to the injured rider. An ambulance from Masterton was on scene and treating the Patient when the Helicopter arrived.
The patient was transported to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department with moderate injuries to his leg.
The Life Flight Trust is a
charity providing air rescue and air ambulance services. It
operates the Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter and
