Help Cancer Patients Look Good And Feel Better This July

Help Cancer Patients Look Good And Feel Better This July

Funds needed to help meet unprecedented demand for life-enhancing workshops

More than 1,860 Kiwis will be diagnosed with cancer during Look Good Feel Better’s national awareness and fundraising campaign, Feel Better Month, this July*.

The demand for Look Good Feel Better’s life-enhancing workshops is at its highest, as every day 60 Kiwis will learn they have cancer - making the need for their services even more vital.

The national charity provides free workshops for people with any type of cancer as they manage the gruelling side-effects of their treatment.

“These workshops are a rare occasion for participants to feel like a person, not a patient, and claim back their identity – while getting practical tools to combat the ongoing visual and emotional effects of therapy,” Look Good Feel Better’s General Manager, Clare O’Higgins, says.

“Last year, Look Good Feel Better held workshops in 24 locations throughout New Zealand. This year, the charity is hosting workshops in 31 cities nationwide. Our aim is to provide enough local workshops so no participant has to travel more than 30 minutes to attend a session that significantly increases positivity and brings back their laugher and smiles.

“As long as New Zealanders continue to suffer the physical side effects of cancer treatment, Look Good Feel Better will be there to help bring back a sense of normality and control during a time when diagnosis and treatment have taken over their lives,” adds O’Higgins.
