Today
the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was
dispatched to the Te Kaha medical centre to meet an
ambulance who had picked up a 12 year old Cape Runaway boy
who was suffering a serious asthma attack, the boys
condition deteriorated rapidly during the road transport and
the helicopter was called to airlift him to Whakatane
hospital.
The helicopter was used because of the distance to hospital and the seriousness of the boys condition.
