Rider Injured Airlifted
The Palmerston North based Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to a rural property near Rangiwaea, west of Taihape, this afternoon where a local woman in her 30’s had suffered serious injuries falling from a horse. The patient was stabilised at he scene by the on-board St John Ambulance Intensive Care Para-Medic before being airlifted to Whanganui Hospital in a stable condition
The rescue helicopter was dispatched due to a combination of factors including the serious nature of the injuries, the remote location and time to Hospital by road Ambulance.
