A Clothing and Nappy Drive is a campaign where Pregnancy Help collects donations of baby clothing (up to Size 1’s), baby bedding, nappies and maternity clothing and bras, so that they can be provided to families.

What is Waste Free Parenting Week?

Waste Free Parenting Week is a week where sustainable parenting is celebrated. It takes place during the week of 2nd – 6th May and is run by Kate Meads (Waste Free Parenting with the Nappy Lady)

“When Pregnancy Help provides families with a helping hand of practical support, in addition to meeting a need for a safe bed to sleep a baby in or some baby clothing or bedding, we are also very much about supporting sustainable parenting” says Diane Thornton, Pregnancy Help National President “What better way for people to be able celebrate Waste Free Parenting Week than to donate items that their baby has outgrown, for other families to use”.

Background:

Pregnancy Help has been providing information, advice and practical support to families in New Zealand for the past 40 years.

In the past 16 years alone the organisation has provided families with 643,591 items of baby and children’s clothing, 109,875 reusable nappies, 72,490 items of baby bedding, and 12,529 maternity garments.
