Gastroenteritis at Grey Base
Hospital
Entry to Grey Base Hospital’s Morice Ward is restricted after some patients and staff have had diarrhoea and vomiting.
Medical Director Patient Safety and Outcomes Dr Vicki Robertson says visitors are asked to refrain from visiting Morice patients until further notice. Grey Base staff have been reminded to stay home if they are ill, until they remain symptom-free for 48 hours before returning to work.
Isolation precautions are in place in the ward.
The DHB asks that people refrain from visiting the Grey Base Hospital if they are feeling unwell.
